SIOUX CENTER—Two Sioux Center businesses have found new homes in town.
As of Oct. 2, Entegro Health — the company on a mission to support gut health through its liquid probiotic products — has moved to 20 Third St. NE. The space was previously home to Klass Law Firm, which found a new Sioux Center home within the Corporate Center, 956 N. Main Ave., Sioux Center.
This is the first move for Entegro, which was founded in 2015 by a team of individuals, including founder Carlos Bahena of Sioux Center, who were fired up by the idea of using living bacteria to help people live a healthier, more productive life. In that time, the company has been located with the Bar K Cattle office building at 1275 Seventh Ave. NE.
“It felt like God wanted us to have a space simply because it’s not something we were necessarily looking for but became available,” Bahena said, noting the process started last year when company investors, who are also his wife’s family members, asked if he’d be interested in taking on the company. “They are a business-minded family and were very supportive of me running Entegro and making it my own.”
Secondly, Bahena and his wife, Amanda, purchased the former Beyer Auction & Realty at 16 Third St. NE next door. Bahena said in talking with Klass Law Firm attorney Jenny Cleveringa about plans they had for the adjacent space, she offered another idea: Purchasing her portion of the building as well.
“Our practice here in Sioux Center has had amazing growth. Thus, the Klass Law Firm was already in need of more office space when discussions with Carlos Bahena began,” Cleveringa said. “The offer simply accelerated our motivation to find larger and more efficient space with better access. We were thrilled that our need coincided with a tenant moving out of the Corporate Center. The timing of that opening overlapped perfectly with our ability to remodel the space and move in within the same time frame that Carlos was ready to take possession of our former space. This has truly been a win-win, and we are thrilled with our newly remodeled space at the Corporate Center, which will allow us to continue to grow.
Cleveringa said her additional office space will allow more attorneys to work out of the Sioux Center office location and better serve their clients.
“It’s amazing what can happen in the span of two months,” Bahena said. “We feel blessed by all that has happened, including finding a new home for Entegro.”
The move for Entegro provides a space for the company to distribute its Flourish and Flourish Jr. products as well as launch a new product option, Tepache, slated to come out later this fall. The fermented pineapple drink will be the first beverage option for the company, still waiting final Food and Drug Administration approval before it can be publicly released through local venues.
“Tepache is a traditional Mexican drink that was made by Indigenous people for several centuries and is still wildly popular today,” Bahena said. “Packed with probiotics, it’s super healthy and could replace your afternoon Diet Coke.”
Tepache is different from kombucha, which is made from fermented tea.
“We were interested in providing another product because we care,” Bahena said. “This company was founded because we want to make a positive impact on others by helping them get better from the inside out. We’re spreading the message about getting people to like good bacteria and how that can help them. We’re excited to provide another product that can do that, something new that might get new people interested in good bacteria and gut health and provide something new and fun for existing customers as well.”
